EXPERIENCE

Administer NT 4.0 domain controllers, application, and file servers and AIX 3.2.5 on IBM Risc platform.      Manage 50 user LAN in a TCP/IP environment employing Baynetworks and Cisco Catalyst 3500 switches, Synoptic hubs, 3com NICs to allow 100Mbps to desktop. Segment ethernet traffic to maximize use of bandwidth. Install and configure 3com router attaching to 128K pipe to the Internet allowing SMTP and HTTP to pass while incorporating packet filtering for additional security. Incorporate logon scripts, security measures, file structures. Plan and implement IP schemes using DHCP. Manage Microsoft Exchange 5.5 adding users, monitoring mailboxes, upgrading, and troubleshooting.

Specify and configure Compaq and other brand servers, including Proliant 5500 with dual xeon pentium II processors, 640M ram, hot swappable hard drives, DLT 35/70 backup hardware using Backup Exec software. Run, terminate, and punch down network connections. Test cable integrity and monitor network activity using Fluke and Pentascanner diagnostic equipment. Utilize modems for remote control of workstations. Configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade PC hardware, printers, and various server backup devices. Establish backup procedures. Install and configure uninterruptable power systems on servers, maintain batteries. Prioritize tasks.

Program extensive Lotus spreadsheets. Use IBMs’ notorious vi editor. Work with numerous software packages including communication softwares, remote control packages, Photo Styler, AutoCad, Voyetra Gold, SoundQuest, Lantastic, MS Office Suite, emulation software, MS Frontpage 98, MS Outlook 97.
